Partnering with Thrivent Financial

Iowa City Community School District

Melissa's Music Studio partnered with Thrivent Financial in Spring 2016 for a Backpack Project in the Iowa City Community School District. Families donated grocery items for the food pantry at a local elementary school. Music students volunteered spending time grocery shopping, calculating the costs with the Thrivent Financial gift card and delivering the items to the school. 

Los Platanitos Schools 

Melissa's Music Studio partnered with Thrivent Financial in Spring 2018 for a Backpack Project with Los Platanitos Schools. Los Platanitos is located in Guatemala about 26 miles north-east of Guatemala City, the country's capital town. Families donated school supplies for the students who attend the local schools in the community. Music students volunteered spending time school supply shopping and calculating the costs with the Thrivent Financial gift card. 

Cedar Rapids Community School District

Melissa's Music Studio partnered with Thrivent Financial in Fall 2018 for a Music Book Project in the Cedar Rapids Community School District. Families donated new and used music books for the band program at a middle school. Music students volunteered spending time purchasing new music books and calculating the costs with the Thrivent Financial gift card. 

Los Platanitos Schools 

Melissa's Music Studio partnered with Thrivent Financial in June 2019 for a Sneakers for School Project with Los Platanitos Schools. Los Platanitos is located in Guatemala about 26 miles north-east of Guatemala City, the country's capital town. Families donated new and gently used shoes for the students who attend the local schools in the community. Music students volunteered spending time purchasing shoes while calculating the costs with the Thrivent Financial gift card.

Los Platanitos is located in Guatemala about 26 miles north-east of Guatemala City, the country's capital town. Families donated new and gently used clothing for the students who attend the local schools in the community. Music students volunteered spending time purchasing clothes while calculating the costs with the Thrivent Financial gift card.
